I'm curious about what makes me interesting enough for strangers visiting my website to want to know more about me, or what my friends, who already know me, might not be aware of. Well, here's a bit about me: I was born in Germany and moved to the USA in 1982. My passion for art led me to teaching a tole painting class at the YMCA in Vermilion, Ohio, even though I didn't know much about tole painting or speak fluent English at the time.Teaching forced to dive deep into the subject and learn extensively about it. After teaching multiple classes, I eventually opened my own studio in Vermilion, Ohio, and rented space at a country store in Birmingham, Ohio. When my husband's job took us to Chicago, I transitioned from tole painting to focus exclusively on fine art. I joined art organizations, entered competitions and eventually split my time between Florida and Ohio. However, this made it challenging for me to continue producing art consistently. This summer, we relocated full- time to Punta Gorda, Fl, where I hope to re-engage with art shows and pursue new paintings. Currently, I'm working on my new website and have exciting plans for new artwork!
